Well the ratings started to drop with season 3 actually. Turbo and Space stablized things.

Season 3 wasn't all bad, we got to see a masked rider/power ranger team up. And who could forget the alien rangers. All in all, season 3 wasn't that bad, just not that great either.
But for me, space was way better than turbo. I wonder if turbo would have been different if it was done with the second cast of rangers?

Oh, I'm not saying season 3 was bad. Remember ratings don't always equal quality. I think it was just that the fad of MMPR was ending. And things were on a downward spiral for awhile. Turbo and Space was able to stablize things.

What second cast do you mean. The Cast of MMPR Season 2-Zeo or The second cast of Turbo Rangers?

Like I said, season 3 wasn't all bad... And zeo wasn't all good either. The second cast of Rangers (I meant) was that of turbo (the Rangers that then become space). My question was would turbo have been different if the Rangers that go on to be the space rangers were already turbo?

I think the first half would have been a lot different. I don't know how much that would have effected the ratings and toy sales. There would have even more of a disconnect between Zeo and Turbo. Its hard to really say. We have to remember that there was also a management change midway through Turbo. Doug and Ann left midway through Turbo. Chip Lynn became the Story Editor at that point. Doug's Turbo would still have been very different from Chip's.

I didn't really like Turbo, but in my opinion it was much better after the episode passing the torch.... It answer my question of how did the four rangers not Andros got into space.

You made some very good points.

Phantom Ranger was never supposed to have an idenity. There wasn't a lot of Sentai Footage to work with. Since Carranger had no real 6th Ranger. Phantom's counterpart wasn't really a Ranger.

People didn't like Justin because they didn't like the idea of a kid Ranger. Plus it was contrived how he was written to be a super genius and was pushed as the main star in the first half.
Indeed, I'm sure that has a lot to do with the Justin hatred.
Also I don't know if Phantom was meant to have an identity or not, we'll never know what their original plans were... however it is true that his Sentai footage was very limited. You didn't see much of it at all. Just the vision you saw of him after Porto had printed out data on him after Havoc had stolen the Turbo Megazord.
And the only other Sentai footage of him was wihle he was in his Control Center when he was telling the Rangers about their new zords (the Rescuezords.)

What were they thinking? Some of the first half was good ( not all through), it got much better when they changed the characters over. Zeo was a much better series ( only talking about the first half of turbo).
It was definitely weird but who knows what they were thinking. I doubt Beetleborgs has anything to do with it though. As far as I know of, hiring Blake was all Shuki's idea. Because of which, they had to make it make sense so that they wouldn't have a kid Ranger while they were doing Ranger fights considering there's the whole issue of the Sentai footage.

I can really agree with the OP on the Justin hanging out with College Students. They took all this effort to try and push the first Kid Ranger into PR and then they make him act like an Adult anyway. Once he was kind of back in is own age group (kinda) with high-school students, it probably did get better.

I agree not to mention there was the whole issue of making him be a child prodigy yet they really did nothing important with it. Billy made a bunch of gadgets to help out the team, what did Justin do for the team? Absolutely nothing excluding that tracker thingie.

First half of Turbo was not that really good but it got better in the second half and Idon't think it gives a good message that kids can drive cars but I only grew in height to match the other rangers
