There will be minor changes to Galaxy. Bulk and his boss will be seen in most episode. They will be the comedy relief of the series. Skull will be seen in the first episode and won't be seen again until a cameo in the Wild Force episode, 'Forever Red'

It's explained that Terra Venture is both reverse engineered from evil alien tech, and tech given to us from good aliens.

The title refers to the fact that the region of space they're exploring is unknown even by the standards of the various alien races.

Maybe have other races like Triforians, Aquitions, and Eltarians on Terra Venture.

Have Deviot betray Trakeena, and escape but have Captain Mutiny as a replacement who works for Trakeena but secretly also works for Deviot.

Instead of Deviot taking over Trakeena he goes into the cocoon uninterrupted, and turns into some robot bug monster.

What happens to Trakeena?

Well the rangers would fight Deviot while Trakeena went into the cocoon herself, and when the Rangers destroyed Deviot Trakeena would come out in her insect form, and everything afterwards would happen like on the show.
