Didn't Paul Schrier say that Machiko Soga was flown over to the US to film her bits of the original ending?

I don't know about that. All I know is that Saban did pay Toei for original footage of Rita and her crew in the palace (not to be confused with Zyu2, which came later). This footage was used as early as Day of the Dumpster.

It's what most of the Goldar talking scenes were, as in ZyuRanger, Griffozor was a lot less chatty.

No, those were actually filmed in the US. I'm saying they had Machiko Soga et al come into the studios at Toei and basically do English lines, which were then dubbed over by Barbara Goodson and the like.
