What Is the Morphing Grid?

Is the morphing grid explained on screen, or is it one of those things that go unexplained yet is an important part of the show?

The morphing grid is the source of the rangers' power. I don't know how to explain it beyond that. PowerRangerX?

At times referring to it feels like technobabble from Star Trek- "it puts strain on the morphing grid" sounds like a good explanation for why something is bad.

The Morphing Grid is a life force energy that encircles the Earth. Most of the Ranger teams that we have scene have powers that are connected to the Morphing Grid.

It can't just circle the Earth though, since PR has been based in space and on other planets.

So does this energy exist in a higher dimension, which only power coins/crystals can tap into?

It has to go into different plants because, what I heard the space morphers was made on Andros home planet not in space.

I like to think that the Morphin' Grid is like an universal energy grid that you can't naturally see. Sure, they showed Alpha in it in "Once a Ranger" but I think that was just a case of trying to show what he was in and not the fact that it's actually a visible grid.

I always assumed it was PR's version of The Force this mystical universal energy that good can tap into the light side of, and evil taps into the dark side of.
