Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
There was no destiny in Time Force. Only chance and choices that influenced all the events. The events of Time Force changed the future in ways we haven't seen. We do see the changes it made in Alex. The Timeholes had more to do with the Tryzarium Crystal Paradox. Which was more to do with two zords using them at once. As once Frax's crystal was disabled, the timeholes stopped.

That wouldn't have jived with Alex's character and the storyline of the season.

his Sentai counterpart was far too evil so they were never going to keep someone like that. It's nice to preserve history but Ryuuga was only doing so in order to try and prevent his death. He didn't care about the history or about anyone else he only cared about him dying.

That would have been good though. Alex would have just been bad like the Captain. And it would have been a very mature storyline to bring over for American Sentai. And much better than the Alex storyline which never had a satisfying conclusion.

it's not an American Sentai. Power Rangers is its own show it's not an American Sentai and censors would've NEVER EVER allowed anyone like Ryuuga on a kids show.

What Snob said is what I was getting at . If you have to dumb down Alex from Ryuuga to appease censors than so be It. It would still be better than what we got.

You could do Alex as a toned down version of Ryuuga. There is no such thing as American Sentai. American Toku is the genre. Which Power Rangers has handily dominated for decades.

Exactly! Power Rangers and Sentai are both great in their own rights. There is room for both in our hearts.

Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
exactly. You can like both Sentai and Power Rangers. There's no need to make Power Rangers an American Sentai and calling it an American Sentai is an insult to the Power Rangers series since that's your way of saying you don't like Power Rangers and as most people say if you don't like something then don't watch it.
You already have the original Sentai to watch so just watch that instead if you hate Power Rangers that much. It makes zero sense to make it EXACTLY the same as something that already exists and anyone can watch. |

Re: Were the Time Force Rangers destined to go to the past ?
Any claim of "Power Rangers" being its own thing was rendered moot after In Space. And American Sentai really started to greatly move away from that after MMPR. The Sentai Snobs have all agreed to refer to only American Sentai. And to encourage others to do the same. I hope Sentai Master and perhaps even American Sentai Snob can join us eventually.
I think its lame that they felt they couldn't do a straight foward adaption of the captian. It just proves how superior Super Sentai is to American Sentai. |
