They're both stoic and ~mysterious~. They also both failed attempts at trying to be a combo of Jason and their Sentai counterparts (Jayden a loner... when he's not being all "Go team!" Troy laughs at fart jokes).

There are some similarities. Troy reminds me more of Jason personally. I think Jayden was more polished as a fighter . He was also less into team work in the begginning.

I think they are both different characters. They just have some similar traits. Which is not uncommon among Red Rangers.

Power Rangers tends to reuse character traits from year to year. Sometimes even when its only been a year later.
