probably because people want to see a serious show since Power Rangers is about fighting villains that are trying to take over the world. There's nothing funny about that.
Having a comedic season pretty much ruins the seriousness of what the Rangers are trying to do. It doesn't make it seem much of a threat with what the villains are doing if villains are for example comedic.
