My reasoning for choosing the latest range is because these Rangers are fighting the good fight without Zordon being there as their backbone mentor. MMPR-PRT NEEDED Zordon to guide them. PRiS were inspired to rescue him from Dark Spector. He was the Space Rangers fighting inspiration in other words. But Lost Galaxy was the first generation to do it on their own, with minor assistance from Alpha 6. They didn't have a mentor and they still fulfilled their ranger duties. This gave Rangermania a whole new feel which is still carried on today.
