Well they already wrote him out in Turbo and he was barely in Space. So I don't know if they were ever going to bring him back full time. It was clever to use him as the plot driving Space. It worked even though the second Turbo Team only meant Zordon once that we know of.

Zordon dying had to happen to balence out the miracle that was Zordon's Wave. You can't have that much of a crazy duex ex machina without some sacrifice. I would say it was for the best.

I don't see much else he couldn't done besides come back for Megaforce. And we had Gosei for that. At least they wrote him off with a bang.

Zordon's death represented the loss of innocence for PR and the true end or the MMPR era. Since the storylines became much more serious. Well until Disney brought back the lightheartedness..

I really liked having a Ranger team that was mentorless. It waa certainty different from what we were used to. We would get it again in Galaxy ( Stanton was a mentor for the GSA Officers) and Time Force.

Killing of Zordon is beyond assnine. I am glad I don't consider these seasons canon. Zordon should always be part of Power Rangers.

If you only consider MMPR Canon...You do realize Zordon "died" in that finale. If you don't consider Zeo canon, Zordon and Alpha is left for dead.

It was never said he was dead for sure. I think he would have been alive in MMPR season 4. Since the writers had enough sense to keep him on the show for Zeo. In any case, that cliffhanger is one of the thing that annoys me about Hogday Afternoon. I hope we get real respolutione for it someday. Since Zeo doesn't count.
