Why weren't Tommy's parents there?

Did anyone find it weird that Tommy was the only one that didn't bring his parents with him in "Return Of An Old Friend"?

Tommy was raised by his Aunt and Uncle right?

Tommy seemed like a longer latchkey kid so it fit.

it sounds like he had Parents so my guess is he had adoptive Parents who had raised him

They must have been working or something. Having parents there wouldn't have worked storywise. Since Tommy had to be late to make his grand entrance at the end of part 1.

Tommy was raised by his aunt and uncle. I assume they were busy with work.

not likely he mentions he has Parents. He never mentions his Aunt or Uncle in fact we only heard of his Uncle once and it was through I believe Kimberly who stated he had told her he likes to go to his Uncle's cabin on the lake whenever he's feeling down.

I think Kilo is getting it from some original movie information. I remember an article in a newspaper that said he was raised by his uncle. Which may not be right. Since it also mentioned Kimberly having a crush on Billy before Tommy.

We did see his Uncle in Zeo. And he was mentioned in Turbo as well.

we don't know if it's the same Uncle that Kimberly was referring to though. I don't recall him in Zeo but now that you mention it I think 1 of his Uncles was in Turbo

He borrowed his Uncle's Water Speeder. The episode where Gasket abducted him. We saw his uncle looking for him.

I think it was written that way as plot convenience and make Tommy continue to look as a loner.

Disney would have made sure his parents were there. The MMPR writers were usually really good though.

I wonder if Disney would have considered casting fans as Rangers?

Perhaps Tommy was shy about introducing his parents to Kimberly? Or they arrived later.

Maybe he knew Kim's parents were divorced and didn't want to throw it in her face that his were happily married? Tommy was a great boyfriend like that.

But wouldn't he offend his parents? And everyone else's parents were there anyway. It had to be thst the parents couldn't make it.

The Kimberly Devorce thing is a good excuse. But I also think his parents must have been busy.

I lean more towards that they were busy with fheir jobs or somethinfbutg! Tommy wouldn't not invite his parents to Parents Day. Kim would have understood anyway.

Actually not inviting his parents to protect his girlfriend 's feelings is deffinitly something Tommy would do. He wasn't too bright.

Green With Envy 03/01/18 05:17 PM

Re: Why weren't Tommy's parents there?

I guess it would have been hard to include his parents with how he was introduced in the episode. His parents would have had to already have been there to be captured.

I woule have been embarrassed to introduce my parents to someone like Kimberly. She was such an airhead.

If Tzachor was the showrunner he would not have made this continuity error.

sure he would have that's the only thing he's good at is creating more questions but refusing to be creative enough to come up with answers.

Jonathon would have been more invovled as a director. A writer would have been in charge of continuity.

I think Tommy lived alone and his parent's weren't in the picture. He just had contact with his Aunt and Uncles.
