Why didn't they just bring Tommy back full time in Megaforce

They might as well. He would have made a better mentor than Gosei. Plus you wouldnt have to keep JDF in NZ for too long since the mentor scenes could be shot all at once. Granted you would have had to bring him back for Legendary Battle.

it'd be a nice idea but it'd be difficult to do since you really don't know exactly what you plan on having the Mentor say that far in advance.

Gosei could have revealed himself to actually be Tommy. It would make sense ans keep JDF from having to be there all year.

I Find it amusing that Gosei retcons out all the Tommy is the new Zordon talk that FR and Hexagon started. Making Tommy just another Ranger. Just how I like it. Guess Zordon didn't put you in the will after all Tommy Boy!

I don't view it as a retcon at all. Tommy is there for things that were already there and to serve as a connection to previous Rangers that he knew about and kept an eye on as was shown in the video diary but Gosei was there for beings that Zordon might not have known about. Basically they're both new Zordons but they serve different purposes.

The universe could use two Zordon's anyway. it makes sense to have Tommy and Gosei both serve as the new Zordon. Heck, you could make a case o for Andros being the Zordon of outer space.

That's a good point about Andros, never thought about that before.

exactly and we could have a Zordon that represents Time Force since it's set in the future so Tommy wouldn't be alive then and more than likely neither would Andros.

Tommy already got to come back enough. I don't think he needed to be back all season. Or two seasons in Megaforce's case.

While the idea of an iconic veteran coming back as mentor is always appealling, Tommy already did it in DT. Jason MIGHT, -MIGHT- come back in DC, we don't know yet. But as for a MegaForce Mentor, I would greatly have enjoyed Billy coming back; he had the smarts, knowledge of how the Powers worked, and combat experience.
