Fractal Code overlooked?
 

Lots of fans show no love for the fourth season of Digimon, but there's one concept I absolutely loved, and hear nothing about either way. Fractal Codes were present in every single Digimon, and causing them enough damage exposed it so you could steal their life force to grow stronger. Now the third season also scratched at this, but the fourth actually allowed a Digimon like Mercurymon to alter his data to become a stronger Ultimate than he would otherwise be, using Seraphimon's code to Digivolve into ShadowSeraphimon.

Evil Digimon altering their forms, and even good Digimon occasionally doing the same to keep up makes so much sense, especially since Digimon games past and present have never had concrete Digivolution lines. It seems like it would be such a cool idea to utilize throughout future seasons. Don't you agree?

Well, I am a season 4 fan, but I'm neutral towards fractal code, but that's just how it was used. If a new season were to use something like fractal code, it would have to be excuted differently than it was in Frontier, to avoid repeats, by just making it more important when its not someone being defeated.
