Was Kat really a monster?

Katherine Hillard was created by Rita to spy on the Rangers. She had a monster from that was destroyed but came back as a human. I really think that she was really a monster the whole time. Her human memories were fake. I think she was a monster the whole time. Thats why she was so evil.

No she wasn't. It's made clear she was always a human. Rita just took advantage of her and brainwashed her and as part of the brainwashing she gave her the ability to turn herself into a cat in order to help them spy on the Rangers.
Being Katastrophe was just Rita and Zedd turning her into a monster and it worked because it made the Rangers trust Kat even more since they were under the assumption that Kat was just kidnapped by Rita and Zedd instead of being the monster.

I did think it was odd that we never saw Kat's parents. I could really believe that her whole life was fake. But I think she truly became good when the spell was broke. Kat was a true Ranger whatever her origins were. Just because Rita created her didn't mean she had to be what she wanted her to be.

Not seeing someone's family doesn't mean their life is a fake. We never saw Tommy's family until we saw David Trueheart in Zeo.

We never saw Andros, Karone or Zhane's family.
We never saw Joel, Chad or Carter's family.
We never saw Eric's family.
Never saw Tori's family.
Never saw Conner, Ethan or Kira's family.
Never saw Xander or Chip's family. We never saw Daggeron's family.
Never saw Will, Rose, Dax or Ronny's family.
Never saw Lilly's or Dominic's family.
Never saw Gem or Gemma's family.
Never saw any of Kevin or Antonio's family.
Never saw any family in Megaforce/Super Megaforce.

I really think Kat was going to end up being a sleeper agent from Rita. She was going to end up being just an evil creation. But for whatever reason this plot was dropped in Zeo. Where Kat suddenly started being written like a good person. Never bought that myself.

Kat was de-aged like the others in alien rangers miniseries. She also meant her future selves on her zeo quest. She diffinitly had parents. Remember Tanya stayed with her family in the beginning of Zeo. Kat was as real as real could be. Unless you want to say Tommy was created by Rita. And that makes no sense either.

I completely agree with you there.

If Kat was truly evil she would have not been able to use the Ninja Powers. And possibly not even the Zeo Crystal. Let's not forget Tommy actually used the Crystal on her to save her from the evil machine.

Why can't Ranger fans just judge Kim and Kat as their own characters? There completely different people and that's a good thing.

I actually liked both. They were both perfect Pink Rangers. I missed Kim in the beginning but Kat made it an easy transition.
