They introduced the Cutie Moon Rod way too early. This was Rei episode. She should have got to destory Coaan before being captured.

that's how it was done in the manga... am I right PRangerX?
besides Sailor Moon needed to have a new weapon to go with a new power of hers so it wasn't too early at all.

I believe so yes. From what I know the episode was very close to the manga. One small change was that kid that looked up to Mamoru was in high school with him and not jr high. Also I dont believe he was tied to Mokoto.

Because they are part of the story. And they want to follow the original story on purpose.
